“Discovering Nara’s Charm: The Enchanting Journey of the ‘Nara Shika Train’”

Today, while returning from Yamato-Saidaiji Station to Tomio Station with my American husband, we encountered an incredibly adorable designed train!

Upon researching, I found out it’s called the “Nara Deer Train,” and it seems encountering it is considered lucky.

The “Nara Deer Train” operates between Kintetsu Nara Station and Kobe Sannomiya Station, featuring Nara’s landscapes and deer painted on its cars. When the train moves, it feels like a herd of deer running through a grassland.

Not only is the exterior charming, but I was also surprised when I stepped inside!

It’s filled with deer everywhere, elevating my excitement. The seats are deer-patterned, even the hand straps!

Reading this article, I felt deeply moved by the passionate feelings of those involved in creating this train. And Gemi-san’s illustrations are truly gentle and beautiful, embodying the feelings I hold for Nara, making me happy.

If you ever come to Nara, be sure to look for the “Nara Kotsu Train.”
